Subject: Call for Participants: Interviews on Emotional Labour in Contemporary
Art Conservation
Message: My name is Yara Jakobs and I am a current student on the MSc
Conservation of Contemporary Art Media at University College London. I am
conducting research for my dissertation exploring affective frameworks and
trauma-informed approaches to conservation practice with a particular focus on
how conservators experience the emotional dimensions of caring for contemporary
artworks and time-based media.

I am looking for contemporary art conservators willing to participate in an
interview (no longer than 60 minutes) either online or in person (London or the
Netherlands).

The interview will focus on your experiences of emotion in conservation
practice, taking care of artworks engaging with sensitive themes and discuss
ways in which conservators can be supported in their work. You are free to skip
any questions, pause or withdraw from the interview at any time.

Participation is entirely voluntary and all information will be treated
confidentially. You may also choose whether you wish to be identified or remain
anonymous in the research.

Interviews will take place in June and July.

If you would be interested in taking part, have questions or would like further
information before deciding, please feel free to e-mail me:
[email protected] <[email protected]>

See the attached file for a more detailed abstract.

We encourage you to participate in the inquiry, as this would enable us to draw

Dear Community:

We encourage you to participate in the inquiry, as this would help us to make
comparisons between countries and schools. It would also allow us to take a
broader look at professional practices.

You can find it in two languages:

English: Evaluation of consolidation treatments for wood heritage with
biological attack (insects).

This survey aims to evaluate the application of consolidants for wooden
cultural heritage affected by wood-boring insects in professional practice, in
both the field and research centres, according to the possibilities provided by
the different contexts.
