I have long said that contra dancing was full of folks of 3 basic types: artists, engineers and care givers.
The appeal to artists seems inherently obvious, great music, colorful dancers, lovely people. For engineers the appeal is the mathematics and the low demand for conventional skills. For caregivers, the opportunity to receive care and healing touch instead of always giving. There are many other professions represented in contra dancing but these folks seem particularly drawn to it. > On Jul 22, 2025, at 7:09 PM, Bill Baritompa via Contra Callers > <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi Dorcas, > > Relating to your new found enjoyment of maths, you might checkout Chris > Page's wrote article "The twenty-four duple minor formations".
