in the latest rpm in 8.0 we have added the following section:
# Servers opt flags
%serverbuild export CFLAGS="%optflags -fno-omit-frame-pointer" \
CXXFLAGS="%optflags -fno-omit-frame-pointer" \
RPM_OPT_FLAGS="%optflags -fno-omit-frame-pointer"

you can add this section to your firewall /usr/lib/rpm/macros, get the latest 
squid*srpm and recompiled it on
your own computer.

I have put this section in the spec file and recompiled it here. You can
get the squid package from ftp.mandrakesoft.com/pub/florin but you should
get the same thing.
