Download of Cooker PPC

Where can I find the cooker PPC edition for download? All I can find on
the mirrors is the i586 version.

Is there any reason I should not run 2.4.x on my iBook2 (being delivered)?
Of course I know 2.2.19 is much more stable, but I guess I need 2.4.x for
the latest APM and USB stuff?
