Theorically a PC133 ram in a PC100 compatible mainboard will run at 100Mhz
without problems. But with some rams and mobo, there are problems. But, if
at 100Mhz, switching from PC100 to PC133 will give you no perf boost. So
it's no use.
Personnally, after having problems with bad ram, I now use only crucial
(micron) rams, a little more expensive, but it's worth. And by the way
crucial offers a way to know exactly what ram to use for your machine. See
www.crucial.com (/uk if in Europe)

he'll tell you what RAM you can/cannot use.
