Here is some stuff I picked up on debian-powerpc: 1) iBook2 only has 8 megabyte video mem, so DRI will not work at 1024x768x24 you have to step down to 16 bits in order for video memory to be enough.
2) Playing audio cd's by ripping the digital track and feeding it to /dev/dsp only works if SCSI emulation layer is used, not if you talk to/via the native driver.
