I've updated the default kppprc generated by the installer to have the
longer delays.

Also added "Enter" as a mouse button emulation choice.

On the KDE eject issue, the offender is in your:

~/Desktop/CD-ROM (could be CD-ROM0, or CD-ROM1, etc)

The first line is getting a bad entry, looks like fallout from the
supermount syntax in fstab:

[Desktop Entry]
Dev=fs=iso9660

Change this to something more realistic, like /dev/cdrom, and eject will
work.  Still looking for the root cause for a permanent fix.
