That option simply passes a "video=radeon" option to the kernel.  In
practice, I found the install to work equally well with the default, just
pressing Enter, but I kept the options anyway.  I haven't used and
"video=" options on any of my machines for well over a year in
yaboot.conf. 

cat /proc/fb 

Should tell you what the kernel thinks the device is.
