Ok. think i figured out what i actually did. Log in as root and go into gnome desktop interface. Exit and select "save settings" then try to log back into KDE Desktop as root. Root desktop icons are probabely all missing. go figure. this is my best guess as to what actually happened. btw- Allot of stuff in the Afterstep desktop do not work.
