Also, just went my website that has midi sound on it and guess what?  It works!

Usually netscape will wine and complain about a pluggin required!  dunno if
this was mandrake or sblive, but the sblive had some troubles with midi.

i'll stop on this matter since this is resolved and i burned an email off to
the ~email (sblive instruction site) on the makefile configuration issue. 
Sounds like this is the main reason for it not being within the kernel yet (or
whatever)...bummer.
