Can some one please save me from the agony of seeing another ^?
I am using Mandrake AIR and had been using 6.1 with no problems before. My
problem is that while editing code in vim I cannot use backspace as it is
interpreted as ^? this is a grave problem as I usually get so frustrated
with not being able to erase I abandon my coding attempt and obliterate it
with a surrendering page of ^?'s. I noticed in the bootup that it says
keyboard set to latin or something which I guess is correct at least i
hope... I did select US keyboard. The other thing that I notice in bootup
is that Backspace sends ^? [OK]...... ok? hell no its not ok :)
I've tried hacking around /etc/sysconfig/keybaord, stty stuff and took a
gander at the rc.d stuff as well all to no avail. Can someone pleae help
me on this matter... I am beginning to think a reinstall of 6.1 might be
in order.
