why don't you just uncheck the box (if it is at the `choose partitions to
format' step)

seems like your partition table indicates fat partition. Just change it using
``Type'' action in diskdrake in expert...

if it doesn't help, as i'm really dumb, could tell exactly what action you're
doing? :)
