The manpage for iozone is inaccurate. The synopsis shows:

SYNOPSIS
       Iozone [-s kilobytes] [-r record_length in kb] [-f
       [path]filename] [-i test] [-E] [-p] [-a] [-A] [-m] [-M]
       [-t children] [-h] [-o] [-l min_number_procs] [-u
       max_number_procs] [-v] [-R] [-x] [-d microseconds] [-F
       path1 path2...] [-V pattern ] [-j stride] [-T] [-C] [-B]
       [-D] [-G] [-I] [-H depth] [-k depth] [-U mount_point] [-S
       cache_size] [-O] [-L line_size] [-N] [-Q] [-P start_cpu]
       [-c] [-e]

Which means that every single argument is optional. However when I run
just "iozone" it complains:

$ iozone
Iozone: Performance Test of File I/O
                Version $Revision: 3.15 $
                Compiled for 32 bit mode.

Contributors:William Norcott, Don Capps, Isom Crawford, Kirby Collins
Al Slater, Scott Rhine, Mike Wisner, Ken Goss
                     Steve Landherr, Brad Smith.

        Run began: Wed Mar 1 17:42:23 2000

Usage: For usage information type iozone -h

If there are any minimum required arguments then they should not be in
square brackets ([]) but instead should be unbracketted or if there are
a group of mutually exclusive options they should be in a elipsis ({}).
