Hello Pixel et. al.,
as main german translator of Mandrake 7.1 manuals I wanted to shoot
new/missing screenshots. The first of my list was the "adduserdrake".
I startet the program as root and realized that it startet in english, even
with my german environment for root. As I knew the strings were translated
to german (I didi it myself ... ;-), I had a closer look at the problem.
A simple strace showed up the problem:
* adduserdrake was looking for the pofiles as follows:

* I have the following environment set as root (correct settings for Germany):

* I made a symlink in "/usr/lib/libDrakX/po" from "de.po.bz2" to
"de_DE.po.bz2". With that link everything went well.
I suppose this problem will also accour with all other locaes ...
Why is "adduserdrake" not looking for "de.po.bz2" as a fallback from
"de_DE.po.bz2" ?
As a quick hack you can add symlinks for all languages, but I think there
must be an other solution ...
Why are those files not in "/usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/DrakX.mo"?
I think this would solve your problems ...
Why have I translated all tis stuff if noone uses it (when correct l18n is
used ...), so please try to correct it for 7.1. I will continue using
german screenshots so far (produced with the symlink) ...
BTW: I've attached the image currently used in the english version
(adduserdrake.gif) which differs from the one I get when I start
"adduserdrake" from my currently installed "drakxtools-1.1.1-5mdk"
(adduserdrake-sg.gif). Which one will be in 7.1 ?
