Hello,

May be off topic, if so pls ignore my comments ;-)

A. Mdk 7.0 & ISDN card setup
----------------------------
I am using an ISDN card Elsa QuickStep 1000 Pro PCI,
the card does not work after installation of Mdk7 because
the default ISDN config file contains definitions for a
different ISDN card. Very easy to fix but I thought it would
be nice to have the card setup (ie any supported ISDN card)
as part of the installation of Mdk7.1

B. Paride devices
-----------------
My guess is there is a few people out there with devices on
the parallel port (eg Zip, Ezflyer, Orb, CD-RW, etc..) and it
would be nice to have the correct modprobe (or insmod) added as
part of the setup.

Note: I have the insmod commands for my Orb drive in the
/etc/rc.d/rc.local file at the very end. It appears that
if I boot Linux when the Orb drive is idle the "insmod pd" will
result in the machine freezing to death... did not seem to
cause trouble with Mdk6.1 (although my config is now P3 SMP
with an i840 chipset on supermicro PIIIDME motherboard).
Booting the machine just after switching on the Orb drive is
fine.

C. Package selection
--------------------
Please, I beg you to change the package selection :-) it is
not very beautiful and there must be a simpler way to put
packages together with more meaningfull directories/sub-directories.

D. Java
-------
Could we get the most recent versions of the JDK? (either from
Blackdown or Sun) on top of the IBM JDK 1.1.8.
Also any possibility to have JBuilder, Forte Community version,
Java API docs and so on... I know it is all very easy to download
except that most of that stuff is 20Mb download each time and
it is nice to have it straight away.
When BT will decide to do something about ADSL then it will be much
better... for my wallet ;-)

Thanks for doing a great job.

Cheers,
Fred
