I don't know how yours is failing, but on my Soyo 6BA-IV+, it recognizes the
HPT366 chip on the IDE2 and IDE3 interfaces, but it cannot find /dev/hde which
is where my system disk is. Mandrake 7.0-0 (using the "new" boot floppy) didn't
have this problem.
