I think that "run by the user" is not a good solution to this
problem. This problem mostly comes from newbies unable to
manually select the correct plugin; asking them to go in the
preferences and click a button to detect the plugin is a little
bit better, granted, but not much. Moreover, compared to the work
needed to add that. If it's in xmms, it should be run
automatically, when, for example, the "auto-detect" virtual
output plugin is selected (that's +/- what I suggested to xmms
developers.
