------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-31 21:49 ------- Still appears valid on MDK 9.1 final, regarding sub-pixel rendering. Symptoms I experience: Remove .fonts.conf file in home directory, then start KDE. Fonts are anti-aliased, but not sub-pixel hinted. Start the KDE control panel. Go to LookNFeel->Fonts. Enable sub-pixel hinting. File .fonts.conf is created with what look like sub-pixel hinting options for current user. Sub-pixel hinting is enabled (confirmed by using xmag to examine displayed fonts). Close KDE control panel. Restart it. Sub-pixel hinting option is shown as disabled. Re-enable it. File .fonts.conf now shows a repeated entry for sub-pixel hinting. This is repeated every time the option is re-selected. The only way to disable sub-pixel hinting is to remove the entries in .fonts.conf, or remove this file completely. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: After changing font anti-aliasing settings in kcontrol, settings return to normal after exiting. In particular I can't turn on sub-pixel hinting.
