X crashing must be related to X. have you tried to remove some X extensions (in the XF86Config-4 file)? acceleration might be doing that, or even a faulty driver (but then i don't know how to workaround). -- Guillaume Cottenceau - http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~gc/
