Since there was previously a thread pertaining to this subject I thought I would give my experience from yesterday.
It was a clean 9.1 install, but I did not do a minimal install. I immediately deleted the cd media and added cooker media and then using urpmi --auto-select --allow-nodeps updated the system. 9.1 to cooker The following packages have to be removed for others to be upgraded: autoconf2.5-2.57-3mdk (due to conflicts with autoconf2.5) do you agree ? (Y/n) y To satisfy dependencies, the following packages are going to be installed (1529 MB): Installation failed: libgcc3.2 >= 3.2-0.3mdk is needed by OpenOffice.org-1.0.3-2mdk libstdc++3.2 >= 3.2-0.3mdk is needed by OpenOffice.org-1.0.3-2mdk librpm-4.0.4.so is needed by gnorpm-0.96-13mdk librpmdb-4.0.4.so is needed by gnorpm-0.96-13mdk librpmio-4.0.4.so is needed by gnorpm-0.96-13mdk libpthread.so is needed by libgcj3-devel-3.2.3-1mdk Try installation without checking dependencies? (y/N) y Preparing... ################################################## Installation failed: file /usr/bin/jv-convert conflicts between attempted installs of libgcj4-devel-3.3-1mdk and libgcj3-devel-3.2.3-1mdk file /usr/include/libgcj conflicts between attempted installs of libgcj4-devel-3.3-1mdk and libgcj3-devel-3.2.3-1mdk I removed libgcj3-devel-3.2.3-1mdk ran auto-select again and allowed the other depend errors to be waived.
