Isn't it just easyer to use amavisd-new? You don't need to start a bunch of programms for every mail and you can use a virus scanner too.
AFAIC amavisd-new is not in mdk (only amavis-ng, which does not run as a daemon). Put it is a simple perl script.
I would preffer MailScanner. I supports spam and antivirus scanning +
it's easy to setup and makes nice log input.
i personally think that an av tools that integrates with postfix filter is cleaner.
mailscanner requires you to have two postfix instances,
one that receives mail and one that sends it out (mailscanner moves mail between the two queues)
