I don't see why you shouldn't bring these things up. With a proper subject (e.g., "Regarding default ACLs in openldap, kerberos, samba in conjunction"), people who aren't interested would know to skip it. I'll bet for 90% of the messages on cooker, the majority of the readers skip it. And that's fine. Also, there are already plenty of focused discussions going on all the time on the current list. I don't think the KDE Galaxy bugs discussion before 9.1, the libtool-1.5 discussion last week, or this discussion have gotten short shrift because they were buried among the rest of the cooker traffic....
