OK, you have got DRI enabled, please can you try disabling DRI. You should be
able to do this by editing /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, and commenting out these two
lines in the "Module" section:
    Load "glx" # 3D layer
    Load "dri" # direct rendering
ie, make them look like this:
# Load "glx" # 3D layer
# Load "dri" # direct rendering

I don't have a DRI card (I use NVidia),, so I am not sure, but there may also be
some dri modules loaded automatically, please check in your /etc/modules file
(or post it also) to ensure the modules aren't loaded automatically.

Then, reboot, and log in to X, log out again, and see if it's still broken.

description:
Well, it seems that unfortunately there are cross-versions bugs.
As in Mandrake 9.1, in an HP Omnibook XE3 with a Intel 830M video card, X
crashes the machine when logging out to terminal.

It is a documented bug ( http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2741 ), it
is reported several times in the web and newsgroups (example:
http://groups.google.pt/groups?q=Mandrake+omnibook+xe3+9.1&hl=pt-PT&lr=&ie=UTF-
8&oe=UTF-8&selm=32ee77b6.0303280308.6fc5cb44%40posting.google.com&rnum=4 ) but
no one seems to care.

When of 9.1, i even spent 17 euros in a paid incident for nothing.
No one solved this mistery.

So, in Mandrake 9.2 it seems that me and all the folks owning this video card
will have to stick with this bug, right ?

Please, don't make me retun to SuSE where there is no such problem.

Warm Regards,
Mário Gamito
