-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Laurent, will it be possible to add a config file to lisa (for kio_lan) to use short hostnames by default (improves behaviour connecting to win9x machines if DNS works). Please see the attached file.
Also, KDE printing defaults to use BSD LPR, which although it works with CUPS, has issues, defaulting to CUPS would be better IMHO. Attached patch to kdeprintrc should fix that. [Since lisa seems to work well out-the-box, a nice touch would be adding a "Local Network" or similar icon, see the comparison Mandrake 9.1/SuSE in this article: http://www.open-mag.com/features/Vol_72/SLEC/SLEC.htm (the comparison is a bit clueless though, since the only difference is that SuSE must have picked up DNS correctly).] Regards, Buchan - -- |--------------Another happy Mandrake Club member--------------| Buchan Milne Mechanical Engineer, Network Manager Cellphone * Work +27 82 472 2231 * +27 21 8828820x202 Stellenbosch Automotive Engineering http://www.cae.co.za GPG Key http://ranger.dnsalias.com/bgmilne.asc 1024D/60D204A7 2919 E232 5610 A038 87B1 72D6 AC92 BA50 60D2 04A7 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQE/SnnPrJK6UGDSBKcRAoOhAJ0c30VbVK1nZa/ZlZMWTaja2ktNeACeJ83N h+eAXESaBSiAx/Cis7+fFRM= =Hxxp -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ***************************************************************** Please click on http://www.cae.co.za/disclaimer.htm to read our e-mail disclaimer or send an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] for a copy. *****************************************************************
