           Product: kernel
         Component: kernel
Summary: SiS7012 PCI Audio Accelerator does not work with kernel-
                    2.4.22-x
           Product: kernel
           Version: 2.4.22-0.7mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: kernel
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The SiS7012 sound chip does not work with kernel-2.4.22-x (including
2.4.22-1mdk). With kernel-2.4.21-x there are no problems.

The error message, when starting the sound server in KDE/Gnome, is:
"Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (Device or resource busy)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device."

All the commands suggested in harddrake seem to me ok (sound chip uses
snd-intel8x0 module), except of the command: "fuser -v /dev/dsp", which gives no
result at all.

lsmod shows this:
