           Product: kernel
         Component: booting
           Summary: USB Device Issues
           Product: kernel
           Version: 2.4.22-3mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: booting
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I'm running 9.2 RC1 on an AMD Athlon system with 256 MB of RAM. All my hardware
was detected and set-up succesfully (including my sound card and my bttv card)
-- EXCEPT for my USB devices.

If I plug in my Genius WizardPen 5x4 Tablet the system hangs at "Detecting New
Hardware" at boot. The tablet has never worked with Mandrake before, but I used
to be able to boot without having the system hang. There ARE drivers for the
wizardpen and if someone so inclined would be willing to compile them into the
kernel that would be GREAT! The wizardpen mini-howto can be found at
http://www.afturgurluk.org/~informancer/wizardpen/

MOre importantly, my Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000 no longer works. With Manrdake
9.1. it would be set-up and ready to use right after the installation. Now, I
can't boot into the system with it plugged in. My machine reboots at "Resolving
Module Dependencies" if I don't unplug the camera.

Thanks a lot,

Take care!
