Now am on ACPI. I installed the ACPI packages and tried to load. But I get an error on system startup: "can't open /proc/acpi/event" ... it says that there is no such file, or something to that effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated, since CPU cooling is the last major obstacle to my getting a healthy Linux install on my laptop. -Jorge
