------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-09 18:40 -------
Sir,

You did not read the entire report. The bug is that tooltips work AFTER
you log out and log back on again. It's not supposed to do that after
you unselect the "Enable ToolTips" box in kcontrol.

All I have to do is position my mouse cursor over anything on the taskbar.

I put every detail, step-by-step, in the report. Please note that you
will reproduce the bug only **AFTER** you have LOGGED OFF and LOGGED
BACK ON again. This is where the bug appears. NOT when you initially
unselect the option in kcontrol.

Thank you.

Joe

*I have seen this problem since MDK 9.0. I just downloaded and
installed (on my test computer) 9.2B2. I easily reproduced this bug on
that computer.

*Open kcontrol (KDE Control Center).

*Select "Look and Feel."

*Under Look and Feel select "Style."

*Click on the third tab "Miscellaneous."

*Under "Visual Appearance" there is an option for "Enable ToolTips."
This is enabled by default.

*Unselect the box and click the "Apply" button.

*At this point, the ToolTips will actually shut off. If you close all
your programs, log out and log back in, you will find the ToolTips
active again.

*Yet, if you open kcontrol and examine the ToolTips setting, you will
see the box unselected.

*If you select, then unselect that box and click "Apply," ToolTips will
once again stop working.
