The scanning problem I cannot reproduce. For me the SANE packages install
without problem, also on startup of scannerdrake. Perhaps you had a problem with
your CDs, supermount, or with urpmi?
I remember that some time ago (before 9.1?) supermount had the problem that some
files which are on the CDs do not appear in the file system. This caused also
and existing package not being installed for me. Can one of the kernel guys check?
Warly, can you check whether the SANE packages get really into the distro? I
have checked, there are no strange Perl auto-dependencies.
The printing bug is a GhostScript problem. I put out a workaround with
foomatic-db-3.0-1.20030908.1mdk on the Cooker in some hours. The problem is that
the "gimp-print" interface of GIMP-Print does not work with the current
GhostScript, but the "gimp-print-ijs" interface of GIMP-Print works. So I have
taken out "gimp-print" and "gimp-print-ijs" gets used by default for all Epson
and most Canon printers. Please remove and re-generate your print queue after
updating.
I do not know what "KasBar" bug means. So I do not know whether it is in my
responsibility.
The case that you can only install in text mode falls into the installer or
graphics board section. Pixel? François?
Printing and Scanning should work now. So I pass the bug on to the installer
department.
And please do not report so many bugs in one bugzilla issue. Please make
separate reports for each bug.

Installation of whole the system can be performed only in TEXT MODE.
The Kasbar bug still exist.
I have EpsonStylus CX5200 USB, 3 in 1 printer, scanner, and copier.
Everything(printer and scanner) works fine on MDK-9.1, but not on 9.2rc-1.
Installation going OK, all hardware recognises, but not printing.
Installation of XSane-lib - fails, so, no scanning services are available.
But USB support (external HD 160Gb on NTFS) works match better on MDK-9.2rc-1.
