This is with acpi set to ht. When the machine suspends with the network attached it takes about a minute to go through it's operations then the machine emits a single low beep and does not suspend ( to ram ). Power cycling the machine is the only option. If the machine is started *without* the network attached then suspend/resume works fine. After the first suspend/resume you can connect the network cable and then suspend/resume with no problems.
