The solid background helps out a lot, thank you. I'm not sure I like the particular shade of blue, but that's probably just me being too picky. I have a 15" 1024x768 LCD, so pixels are plenty large. But the "chatter" of the background drowns out the text. Would it be possible to dull the background behind the text, instead of brightening it (cf. the bootsplash). Alternatively, a larger outline (instead of jsut a shadow) around the characters? Either option would make it much easier to read the text.
