Just as a note for the future..

Many companies to not like to be verbally abused.
They have much better things to do than listen to
a user flame their company, and will quite often
toss the e-mail into the trash.

If you really do want them to listen, you have to
explain why, and explain it nice enough where
someone won't mind reading it. An e-mail with a
good business reason to do something, which is
courteous enough to be read to a company Vice
President, is more likely to get through than an
e-mail containing threats and/or negative
comments, whether about that company or another.

I have had my share of hate mail, and I have even
written a few in my days. I know that I have even
posted a few to this mailing list that had a very
negative tone. But I do this very rarely, as I
am constantly reminded why I don't do it on a
regular basis:

1. I get those kinda e-mails in the tech support
business, so I know how the supporters feel
    when they read it.

2. No one bothers to read garbage flame mail,
    including myself.

Linux is still new to many companies. It has
taken a lot of time to get the current list of
companies to support it, and it will take much
more time to finish the job. If everyone wrote
a good, courteous e-mail to Adaptec, each one
containing a good business reason for them to
support Linux, someone in the company would start
to notice. Otherwise, all they're going to notice
is the flood of flame mail from Linux users. Who
wants to support a bunch of jerks?

Persistant positive pressure. The three P's in
getting things done.

That's a little more than my two cents worth.
