Product: Hardware Component: Hardware Summary: Computer will not shutdown Product: Hardware Version: 9.2-0.7mdk Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: Hardware AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] User experience level: Beginner+ Gateway Solo9550 Laptop 1000MHz/512MB/30GB Lucent Orinoco mini-PCI adapter Intel E100 Adapter Gateway Modem PCMCIA x2 Firewire x1/USB x2 8x DVD-Rom Laptop will not shutdown after "Halting System". Previous versions, (MDK 9.0 Dolphin?) did not have this problem. First appeared in MDK 9.1 (Bamboo). After issuing the halt command, computer shuts down normally. When the it reaches "halting system", the LCD backlight goes off and the computer remains on. I have enabled and disabled APM in the BIOS with no success. I have enabled/disabled ALL other APM functions with no success. This bug only shows in Mandrake Linux 9.1 and above. Other Linux versions do not have this problem. Other notes: I have to disable "Screen Power Management" in order to get the "Suspend to Disk" to function properly. The "Screen Power Management" is useless to me. Orinoco.cs does not load properly, defaults to WaveLAN/IEEE. Any attempts to load Orinoco.cs causes error in modprobe boot. This was not a problem in MDK 9.1.
