------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-15-09 13:04 ------- This is not the first time I see some things like that. I had the same problem with an USB printer. If it is plug and power on and I boot I may have detection problem. It's coldplug problem ;) it seems tht during boot for powered on USB devices, hotplug does not work correctly. You have to power off, unplug/plug, power on the device to make it work. I can't test if for my printer ( HP OfficeJet G55, so a multifunction with scanner ) this is still valid ( the printer is plug on the main server, and I will not upgrade the main server to cooker ) but this is an annoying problem. >From /var/log/messages you could see that the dice is detected but nothing happen ( hotplug not launch ) or sometimes it says that it can't attached device because of irq pb. If you change USB prot it work like a charm ... Updated today to latest cooker, still does not work. When i plug the scanner, no icon appears on the desktop. Then i launch scannerdrake and it says the scanner Epson 1240U was detected but not found in supported scanners list -> manual configuration. I select 1240 in the list, but then it still tells no scanner is configured ! This is really crasy, because 1240 and 1240U are the same ! "U" only means you can plug a extension to use negatives, and my scanner works well since 8.2 (at least...). 9.2Rc1 was a downgrading upgrade :-(
