Hi,

I want to sync a local directory on a VFAT partition (fstab entry:
/dev/hda5 /mnt/win_d vfat iocharset=iso8859-15,codepage=850,umask=0 0 0)
with a remotely accessible directory on a file server (access by ssh).

The files should be transferred from the server to the VFAT directory,
which is empty, initially. The directories are created, but the files are
not copied (which is not good --. I need these).

Could this be an underlying problem of RSYNC which is not able to maintain
the group/user ownership of the files, and bails out ?
If so, a notice/error message should be displayed to alert the user that the
sync has failed. This is not done.
