I have seen this bug as well. The only way to get it working again is to shutdown mozilla and restart it. Highly annoying.

I don't fully agree. All you have to do is clicking on another window (not mozilla)
in the desktop, then click back to mozilla and input areas are fonctionnal again.


Double-clicking in the text field usually gets the input ability back for me. It used to be worse, typing the first character would not work and there was no way to get focus except to restart Mozilla, that I know about. I want to say deleting XUL.mfasl under my .mozilla profile did some good but it has been maybe more than half a year since it was that bad and I don't remember. Currently, I can come back to a blinking cursor after changing windows or desktops and input does not happen. This is when double-clicking seems to work.
