Synching GConf 1 and 2 (1.0.9-11.1.92mdk and 2.4.0.1-1.1.92mdk) does not 
change the behavior. GC still crashes at startup when opening a file with an 
associated report.

It's normal for this only to occur under Gnome, since KDE doesn't use the 
utility/library. GnuCash doesn't either, as far as I can tell, but it's 
looking pretty certain that the chart generator or gtkhtml (another GNome-
specific thing) does, and that's what makes things coredump.

gnucash no longer starts, it complains that gtkhtml cannot connect to gconfd.
One maybe has to open a report to trigger this? My gnucash opens some reports
upon start.

After downgrading to previous (9.2) GConf stuff and relogin, gnucash works again.
