For your information,

 On a pentium3 laptop (dell latitude c600, 256 MO), with gcc-3.3.1-4mdk, and 
an
 updated mandrake 9.2 cooker,  kernel-2.6.0-test9 compile fine and is
 working fine (the synaptic touchpad is not working very well although, but
 i have a wacom intuos tablet with mouse, and it it automatically used by
 XFree withe kernel 2.6 (and not 2.4), so it is great  lol)
