Dear Developers,

There is a bug in the Installationprogram since 7.1 Beta1 and all
following Mandrake Releases, which break when trying to install
Mandrake via a SCSI CDRom and a Tekram DC395 SCSI Controller.

At 7.1beta 1:
(Debug screens)
Running /bin/insmod /bin/insmod /modules/scsi_mod.o
testing for /modules/dc395x_trm.o
try with /tmp/dc395x_trm.o

scsi0: Tekram DC395U/UW/F DC315/U V1.11 1999/10/14
scsi: 1 host

Target 02: Plextor ...
Target 03: Yamaha

running /bin/insmod /bin/insmod /modules/scsi_mod.o
running /bin/insmod /bin/insmod /modeles/dc395x_trm.o

* /proc/scsi/scsi: Attached devices
  Host: scsi 0 Channel: 00 Id: 02 Lun: 00
  Vendor: Plextor Mo
* SCSI devices are available

* mounting scd0 on /tmp/rhimage as type iso9660
* creating directory /tmp/rhimage rc=0
* calling mount (/tmp/scd0,/tmp/rhimage,iso9660,-1058209791,(nil))

(On Install Screen)
I Could not mount a CD on device /dev/scd0

------------------------------------------------------------------

When I'm using a Mandrake 7.0 Bootdisk it looks nearly the same,
but at the debug screen I can see following:

scsi0: Tekram DC395/U/UW/F DC315/U V1.10
scsi: 1 host

Target 02: Plextor ...
Target 03: Yamaha

running /bin/insmod /bin/insmod /modules/scsi_mod.o
running /bin/insmod /bin/insmod /modeles/dc395x_trm.o

* /proc/scsi/scsi: Attached devices
  Host: scsi 0 Channel: 00 Id: 02 Lun: 00
  Vendor: Plextor Mo
* SCSI devices are available

* mounting scd0 on /tmp/rhimage as type iso9660
* creating directory /tmp/rhimage rc=0
* calling mount (/tmp/scd0,/tmp/rhimage,iso9660,-1058209791,(nil))

VFS: Disk change detected on driver sr(11,0)

and the Installation continues ...

------------------------------------------------------------------

I know this is no easy and nice error report, but since I can't
see any thing more, I don't know how to do more, since the Install
is a binary file, where I cannot look into.

Will someone help me ?

Daniel
