Same problem with find_root_parts :
suggest_mount_points are from fstab read from first root partition found (hdb6) and
don't try to find second root
partition.
Now I hide first boot and root partitions with fdisk -t (changing type to 0x78 vs
0x83)
Ok , now suggest_mount_points are from fstab read from second root partition (hdb9)...
nice... it advise me (correctly becouse I've left fstab on hdb9 unmodified) that :
* reading fstab
* err, fstab and partition table do not agree for hdb1 type: 120 vs ext2
* err, fstab and partition table do not agree for hdb6 type: 120 vs ext2
and now suggest_mount_points are correct for upgrading hdb7-hdb9
Note : in choosing packages to upgrade I think it calculate, may be, only new packages
because he said I've to
upgrade only ~100MB, but this an old cooker (last before kde2) and I need to upgrade
about everything
(Total time 56 minutes on a speedy udma66).... ;o)
Note : I choose grubb boot loader and I check that in label linux (I use
kernel-pcmcia-cs-2.2.17-17mdk.i586.rpm)
installer put initrd : /boot/initrd-2.4.0-0.24mdk.img .....why?? and in listbox
the other alternative is only
/boot/initrd-hack.img ...removed by hand...
Note : same error if I try 'bug'command :
Undefined subroutine &detect_devices::floppies called at
/usr/bin/perl-install/commands.pm line 564.
Note : I've seen that you've added in "Choose a monitor"
Generic LCD Panel 1400x1050
Generic LCD Panel 1600x1200
why not also an :
Generic LCD Panel 1280x1024 ???
Note : After upgrade to use 3c589_cs as eth0 '/etc/pcmcia/network check eth0' said
that I need to create :
touch /etc/pcmcia/network.opts
and
touch /etc/pcmcia/wireless....
Upgrade not good other problems... network not start and X also as problem (I choosed
XFree3 and I've nice colours
on screen ...;o/ unusable) : next time I try fresh install but now I go home ...
else my wife kill me..;o)
cu and good work...;o)

On my laptop (may be you have my old emails, but I summarize)
I've two cooker install:
hdb1 as /boot , hdb6 as /
and
hdb7 as /boot , hdb9 as /
and
hdb10 as mirror of cooker partition
Now I want upgrade hdb7-hdb9 but installer don't ask me nothing and I found
with 'mount' :
[...]
/dev/hdb6 /mnt ;o/
/dev/hdb1 /mnt/boot ;o/
/dev/hdb10 /mnt/mnt/hd
/dev/hdb7 /mnt/mnt/hdb7 ;o/
/dev/hdb9 /mnt/mnt/hdb9 ;o/
Bad thing is that installer again don't let me choose which root partition I
want upgrade between hdb6 and hdb9 ...;o)
Another note, when I try 'bug' command from shell console I've :
Undefined subroutine &detect_devices::floppies called at
/usr/bin/perl-install/commands.pm line 564.
cu... good work...;o)
