I have to apologize for my last reply to your help. I made a silly mistake in downloading db packages and that wrong package came in too. I had now removed it from the installation directory and, at last all glibc upgrade went fine. Now I'll download rpm and locales, as you told. Many many thanks again, you were a good teacher!
