What I did :
(my ide doesn't support DMA)
To run in 32bit mode instead of 16:
I created an exec. file /etc/rc.d/init.d/disk32
contains:
hdparm -c 1 /dev/hda
hdparm -c 1 /dev/hdb

(have 2 hd's)

Selected it to start-up at boot.
