[Cooker] KDM backgrounds in KDE 2.1 for Mandrake 7.2 still DONT WORK?

Hello, this has been a problem since kde 1.x - although there are options
to configure the background of kdm (like wallpapers and patterns) no
matter what i do, it still does not work.

Is it just these RPM sets or is this "feature" so terribly broken?
