Too sad. Then Thinkpad users should compile their own custom kernel? :(

Then it's probably wise to issue a warning to these users then. (e.g.
specify it in known bug list when 8.0 is out)

Confirmed: the culprit is really the psaux keyboard waiting patch. After
removing the patch PS/2 mouse works fine with gpm.
