Hi Wow - nice thinking! If it was accomplished this means that such a self-compiling structure should only need about 20 MB - the rest could be done one night by itself. When one does a ftp install of Debian you need two fd plus drivers for UDMA 66 that is 6 fd. That is all you need to do a ftp install. The very first package is then compressed abot 16 MB. >From a theoretical point I would recommend that you copy that plus the compiler and exchange the act package with rpm. Then you could possibly build from there. regards guran
