Just performed a clean installation of today's cooker. Here you are a short
report of what I found:
NEGATIVE THINGS:
1)
Cannot make raid-on-/ because in DiskDrake when I assign mount point "/" to
/dev/md0 I get the message "No such pseudo-hash filed at LVMname at
/usr/bin/perl_install/partition.pm". Maybe I've already reported it, sorry I
can't remember ;o|
2)
Cannot disable automount
3)
XFCE --> "Cannot create file" (then I only can exit)
4)
Even selecting "networked computer (client)" I have no FTP nor TELNET
installed (I mean CLIENT!!!)
5)
Missing icons in menu: office-->accessories and multimedia-->sound-->mp3info
6)
KaddressBook is in "file tools"!
7)
KDM won't remember the last GUI I used...
8)
LAN browsing in Konqueror does not work. Anyone had it working fine?
9)
Mozilla homepage is www.mozilla.org, instead of index of mdk-docs
10)
"Halt" in KDE (when logging out) won't work, while "reboot" is fine.
POSITIVE
1)
Raid-on-"/home" WORKS greatly
2)
USB scanner (Epson 1240U) WORKS, even if I had to put
insmod scanner vendor=xxx product=xxx
ln -sf /dev/usb/scanner0 /dev/usbscanner0 ; chmod 666 /dev/usb/scanner0
in /etc/rc.d/rc.local because somehow that fucking devfs does not like my
symlinks :o(
3)
All GUI works great, except XFCE
4)
"?" in menus are all (almost all) gone away! :)))
5)
Drakconf is becoming REALLY REALLY a great thing. It works in all of the
parts that I test, without any crash. I'd say GREAT JOB! :))
