[Cooker] mouse problem in LM 8.0

I realise this may not be the right place to ask this, but... I have an
Artec ps/2 wheel mouse that I am trying to use in Mandrake 8.0. The problem
is that it is not being detected automatically by the installer, and still
does not work after I tell what kind of mouse it is. It is plugged into a
ps2 to serial adaptor, and it does work in windows.
