Here is an interesting one: after fresh reboot, I can start konqueror from icon in toolbar, and from menu without issue in kde desktop. However, if I log off of that account and log back in, I cannot start konqueror from any of those options (it does appear as started in processes though, just does not appear on screen. It is started with a -silent in processes.)
I can get it to work by using the run program in kde though. I tell it to run the program as a different user then use the current user info and password.
