Is the SMP kernel built without NUMA (CONFIG_MULTIQUAD) perhaps, or fixed some other way? To repeat the issue, the 3mdksmp kernel freezes at boot because of the new NUMA implementations, rebuilding the kernel *without* this fixes the problem on non NUMA SMP machines (at least Abit BP6). Those who really *owns* such a NUMA machine should be recompiling *their* kernel..., or nag the NUMA people until they solve *their* problems. -- Oden Eriksson, Jokkmokk, Sweden.
