I you still have it, can you try the old rpmtools-4.0-1mdk ? or modify directly /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/i386-linux/urpm.pm for line $urpm->build_synthesis_hdlist($_); to change as $urpm->build_synthesis_hdlist($_, 1); that's all, and try an update -a ?
